Cherie with Anne and her Supporters
Anne Snelgrove
Cherie at the Mail Coach Pub in Swindon
Cherie continued her support of women Labour candidates during the last week of the election campaign.
On May Bank Holiday Cherie visited Swindon South to campaign for the reselection of Anne Snelgrove. Cherie met party workers and volunteers gathered at a local pub; she thanked them for their hard work on the campaign and answered questions about her life, before and after No 10; her support of charities and women's empowerment; gay rights; her family and her women's Foundation.
Following this meeting Cherie, Anne and supporters went door to door canvassing. There was enthusiasm on the doorstep for Anne and her dedication to the constituency. Cherie urged those who told her they were not going to vote to seriously reconsider.
Cherie was then "in conversation with" Matt Hollan, Director of the Swindon Literary Festival about her book "Speaking for Myself". The floor was then open to the audience who asked questions on a variety of topics about Cherie's personal life and her legal and charitable work.
She then meet members of the audience chatting to them and having photos taken at the book signing.
